Talking about Travel Sketchnotes on the Sketchplanations Podcast
I recently had the joy of chatting with the wonderful people of the Sketchplanations Podcast. You might know the Sketchplanations project by Jono Hey. He has been sketching one small visual explanation per week for years, published a selection of them in a book and also has a fantastic podcast that he hosts together with broadcaster Rob Bell and inventor Tom Pellereau.
The three of them invited me to talk about two of of my favourite things: Sketching and travelling. We talked about taking visual notes while travelling and how sketching memories instead of taking photos can change how you see the world, how prompts can sharpen your experience, and why drawing with a pen (and not a pencil!) can feel daunting but ultimately helps your sketching practice.
It was a wonderful, curious, and slightly nerdy conversation.
Have a listen if you're into sketching, daydreaming, or discovering new ways to remember your adventures.
