Viztober 2023... and looking back at Viztober 2020

October traditionally is Inktober month – an opportunity to draw from a shared prompt list every day and share it with the community.

There are lots of different prompt lists to choose from (the classic Inktober list is usually more halloween-spooky-themed). This year I decided to make my own for everybody who is Visual Thinking and Sketchnoting… hello ‘Emotional Viztober’!

I’ll draw one emotion per day and I invite you to join me and draw your own versions from the prompt list I prepared.

If you don’t get round to drawing every day, don’t worry. Just do what you can and share your drawings using the hashtags #emoviztober and #viztober so we can all find each other’s posts.

I am sharing all my Viztober sketches on my instagram @evalottchen all through October 2023.

Looking back to Viztober 2020

This moment is also a good opportunity to look back to a previous Viztober – especially because scrolling back several years in an Instagram feed is no fun and I never actually made a summarising blogpost of Viztober 2020.

So here we go. Viztober 2020 contained a list of more abstract concepts to visualise and if you already had a look at my first drawing from this year you might recognise the characters (person and bear) who starred in this series.

I hope you enjoyed this recap of my Viztober 2020 series.
To 31 more drawings in 2023. Are you in?
